Art Newett was Commodore in 1983.

The tradition of a night time sail at Joe Barrett's Marina during the full moon of October or November began this year.  For many recently graduated sailors, this annual event is the first opportunity to try out boats bigger than Phantoms or Sunfish.

Other activities during the year included sailing charters, a pancake breakfast, the annual picnic/sail at Ralph Hagood's place, and the Christmas Party.

There were 126 members this year.
