Bob Garlitzke was Commodore in 1987.

A highlight of the year was Sea World's invitation for The Red Cross Sailing Club to put on a demonstration of sailing during Sea World's Coast Guard Salute in September 1987.

The Club accepted the invitation and developed a choreographed sailing routine that was performed in the lake in front of the main stage at Sea World.  Afterwards, a child was overhead asking a mom if the sailing was real or just boats being pulled around on tracks underwater.  The mom assured the child that it was fake and that there must have been tracks.  NOT!  There were no tracks, just our expert sailors performing magic with wind and sail!
