Mary Ostrander was Commodore for 1988.

Dave Pontis constructed the working Phantom model used as a classroom instructional aid in the Basic Sailing Course.  The spring boat show Sailing Club booth, the July Crab Party, picnicking at the Hagood's, the Golden Age Games sailing event, providing volunteers for the Red Lobster Club were the club's events.  Planning for the 1989 "Wastin' Away in an Abaco Daze" charter from Ft. Lauderdale to the Abacos and back was begun by Steve Kuiper. 

Spring and fall Advanced Sailing Courses and the monthly Basic Sailing Courses continued to be offered.   


 Cookin' up crabs at the annual Crab Party, Guitar Strum & Birthday Party for anybody born in July!

By this time, the Advanced Sailing Course was. being conducted on Lake Monroe in the spring and fall, using a 23' San Juan and the 21' Venture.  A second San Juan was later donated and also used in the Advanced Sailing courses.
